Yeah, that would have made for a very emotional and dramatic show.
But at the same time he’s not going to get a lot of time to see his family before he has to go back. 7 days of being back in the states but still not able to see his family would have been really cruel.
I would have loved …
I would have loved to have seen them wait to show the dad. Have him help build the house, then when they move the bus at the end, he’s standing there. The family sees the house and the dad, at the same time…talk about emotion

my local mall is called Pentagon City, directly across the street from the Pentagon. during lunchtime, the mall is filled with people in uniform. i walk up to them & thank them, and am SHOCKED at how many are overwhelmed by that small gesture & say no one’s ever done that for them before. it’s sad. let them know that they are appreciated. my stepdad had his arm blown off in vietnam & still suffers but people forget once they are home.
