ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition celebrates its 100th episode in Minnetonka, Minnesota with a two-hour special featuring the return of some of the show’s most memorable families. Eight families from previous builds worked as special volunteers, along with TY PENNINGTON and the “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” team to build a home for the newly formed SWENSON-LEE family of 10. The family featured in the 100th episode is the Swenson-Lee family. In a nutshell, Erik and Vicki Swenson, coaches and parents of three (plus one on the way), took under their roof the four children of Vicki’s sister. It was tragedy that brought the family together. TERI LEE, a mother of four, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend, leaving her children orphans, as their father had been killed in a car accident in 2001. VICKI and ERIK SWENSON-LEE, both teachers and parents of three children of their own and another on the way, invited their nieces and nephews to live with them. Vicki was Teri’s sister. “They moved in with us just traumatized,” a tearful Vicki relates. “The horror and the grief that you see these kids go through; it’s so unfair. They left their school, their friends and literally within a 24-hour period had to start over with a brand-new life.”

Having read some of the comments, I just want to add my own opinion.
Gun laws did not let the victim of this story down. The judge who let that man post bail to begin with let her down. If the man believed that terrorizing a woman with a knife is a way to “straighten her out” then he had no business being free to begin with.

Exactly blame the murderer, if he had a knife there would be loads of less murders. Police pack guns because they are fighting people with guns, and its all legal if you’re registered, and with that ty amendment everyone has one, its not about who has one, its about how lucky are you and how good of a shot. Control Guns, simple concept, but much of the USA’s budget comes from gun manufaturer’s, so what politician in his right mind would say no to guns if its paying his paycheck.

And one day you go spastic, life sucks, everything goes wrong. But wait a second you have a gun, you can solve all your problems, your human, be diplomatic and protective, guns are offensive, that is their point.

Why do you think police pack guns? oh yeah its because they need to defend them selfs against criminals. i have owned guns my whole life and i have NEVER hurt anybody and never will. Its the finger that pulls the trigger. in this situation blame the murderer not the gun the gun is just an object, it cant hurt anybody unless somebody decides to do bad with it.

Yeh i agree, but guns have 1 intention. Nothing more. And who are the right people, personally police and military. But then farmer joe who runs a charity gets angry and ego comes into the equation, so he shoots the neighbour that bad mouthed him. It doesnt work, get rid of guns unless your enforcement or military.

Then why is it that the rest of the world have tamed guns and have high gun control. And why is it that they have less gun related deaths then the USA. And if you want to protect your family enforce gun control, tougher penalities on guns, and a crackdown on american arms dealers. Gun’s have 1 purpose.

That subject could go back and forth forever. It’s not if you do or don’t have a gun in your house, it’s how people choose to use that gun. In this case, the gun was in the wrong person’s hands which resulted in senseless deaths. On another note, I’m glad they mentioned Tim but wish they would have mentioned and dedicated a little more to the father as well. Thank you uSoBayArea for these wonderful episodes.
