Billy-Jack and Ann adopted 4 kids who were branded “un-adoptable” and gave them a second chance. Living in a 100 year old house with the 4 adopted kids, and there 2 biological kids, the family needed a much larger home. They want to adopt a few more kids, but the law says they can’t because they don’t have the room. Now Ty, and his team have built the Barrett family a 2 story ranch home, themed around there love for horses, and a separate school house for home schooling.

The team heads to Kansas to help the Gilyeat Family. Daniel is a single dad of four who served our country as a Marine. He took a second tour of duty just to help his family financially. During his second tour his job was to disarm bombs that were found. His truck hit one and he lost his leg. One year after his leg was amputated, his wife divorced him. He is strapped financially and his house is very small with very little room to maneuver when he is in his wheelchair. The team renovates the home of this decorated U.S. Marine who lost a leg in Iraq; while renovations are under way the family vacations in Los Angeles and gets a surprise visit to meet actress Miley Cyrus (”Hannah Montana”).

Extreme Makeover Home Edition - Stockdale Family 4 of 5

Ty Pennington and the Extreme Makeover Home Edition design crew travel to Middleton, ID for tonight’s episode. The team will be building a new dream house for the Stockdale family.

The Stockdale family consists of high school sweethearts Ryan and Karia Stockdale and their four children. The Stockdale children all suffer from a rare disease known as Eosinophilic Enteropathy. This disease is a white blood cell disease. It attacks proteins, preventing the ingestion and digestion of food. The disease also affects and causes
diseases of the lungs, kidneys, blood, intestines and immune system.

The children’s names are Kayden, Jetty, Baylee, and McKinnon. Kayden was born with Gastroschisis, where the intestines are outside the body. Kayden had to undergo two surgeries to correct. Jetty and Baylee have to bed with feeding tubes because of their condition. McKinnon is the youngest Stockdale child, and she was born two months premature.

In addition to the children, the parents have also suffered some health problems. Ryan had been diagnosed with Migraine Glaucoma. The same disease recently lead to his brother’s blindness. Karia suffered some complications while pregnant with McKinnon, and she had to undergo five major surgeries.

Even with all the medical problems, the parents are very active in their community. They created a book drive and ran instrument drive for their school. Karia is a tutor and head of a humanitarian group.

The family’s home has several problems such as a coal-burning furnace and a weak plumbing system. Because the family has to get their water from an indoor well, they can only run one water-using appliance at a time.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition - Byers Family 5 of 5

Before Jenessa was diagnosed with pediatric cancer in 2006, the Byers had dreams of renovating their home. But as soon as the cancer appeared, the renovations became the least of their worries. An outdated and dirty heating system only heats a part of the home, and the wiring is exposed throughout the house, making it dangerous for the children to be around. In addition, mold and toxins have caused health concerns to both Jenessa and her brother, 13-year-old Joey, who suffers from severe asthma. The condition of the home is so bad that it has forced Joey to move into his grandparents’ home. To make matters worse, Jenessa’s cancer has reappeared. While Ty and the designers, local builder Legend Homes and hundreds of volunteers and workers are rebuilding their home, the Byers family will go on vacation to Disney Vacation Club in Hilton Head, NC.

….It is sad to read and hear such a couragoes story of a little girl who did so much for others. Her life here on earth was truly an inspired one. Lives were touched by Jenessa’s story. Kids are more loved by there parents cause of the life she lived. And hearts are broken for the family she left behind. May you rest in peace Jenessa and may your memory live forever.
