depend son the size of whole if its close to 13″ I’d just say cut out to the studs and put on a piece of board to fill the gap. But I’ve covered holes of about 7 to 12″ with standard drywall tape and mud. it just may take more then 2 coats. the proper method to any taping is actually 3 coats.

Unfortunately I gotta agree with rodolfo2107, the precedures being shown are very inaccurate, and are simply incorrect. These processes are actually making it more difficult than it is. I noticed in a few of the vides that he is not even using the correct products. Although I applaud his efforts, this stuff is like taking medical advice from somebody that just reads alot of medical books ,RATHER THAN AN ACTUAL DOCTOR….lol.
